A word from the mastermind behind Oshi Flavors...

Thank you to everyone who responded to my rather strange request in Twitter DMs and email! This is a project that I've had in the back of my mind for a long time. In fact, as a young girl, I've always wanted to write a cookbook of my own with some of my family's recipes. However, many life events and other unexpected circumstances prevented me from putting more thought and effort into making this dream a reality.My main inspiration for this project is my late maternal grandmother. Unfortunately, she passed away back in late 2024 due to complications as a result of Parkinson's Disease. The initial grief surrounding her passing was immeasurable. Holidays such as Thanksgiving and Christmas were her favorite, not because she would buy out A.C. Moore and Michael's of their decorations, but because she was the one that would lead the preparation of a feast and the gathering of relatives from various sides of my family. Last year was the first year of these holidays without her. It was strange for me to not travel out an hour and a half by train to see her and help her with the cooking and cleaning. It was strange not to do the 5:30AM coffee and early morning news ritual in the living room as the sun gradually crept out from the clouds. It was strange to not hear from her.However, I did not let that stop me from doing what she would do around the holidays: wake up early and have her coffee, then cook her heart out to bring relatives from both sides of my family together. As a means to process my grief, I put on noise canceling headphones and did all of the cooking by myself. During both holidays, family and friends gathered and praised my feast, saying they could taste the love and effort put into every main and side dish. I told them that my grandmother's spirit was with me as I made everything. It truly felt like she was there.Her food and her energy connected the family during the holidays. And that's exactly what I want to do, as her legacy.VTubers, VAs, VArtists....we make content that we share with an audience. We create and entertain as a means of getting close to our fanbases. And as a result, people within the fanbases begin to connect because of the content we put out. Keeping this in mind as well as being the foodie I am, I thought that a cookbook project with many VTubers would be an amazing way to further connect with our communities.Ladies, gents, and other entities...my name is Namiya Pofumi and welcome to the world of Oshi Flavors.

Hirii~Thank you again to everyone who responded to the call sent out! I was once like you- an unwitting recipient of Nami's passion for not only vtubing and food but for this project and dream. Since that fateful day, it's been a lot of work behind the scenes to make this dream of Nami's into a reality, and I'm so eternally grateful that you all are willing to come along for the ride!My food story is probably similar to many of yours- a love of food, learning to cook with your heart, and posting food pictures on the internet- but what those pictures never showed was the true recipes behind the food, the ingredients and stories and culture being treasured and uplifted in every dish we make.Even in little ways- Oshi Flavors is the crystallization of the wish to hold onto those feelings.We thank you for starting on this journey with us, and we hope to continue this alongside you!More information about your contributions to this cookbook as well as general logistics will be in the next newsletter coming soon.With Love,

Greetings Creators!We hope all is well!We are reaching out to you all because we finally have a proper form for additional information needed for each of your respective recipe spreads. This email will host the Creator Intake form (linked at the bottom of this email) as well as clarify all questions found on the form itself.Please take a moment to familiarize yourself with the questions on the Creator Intake form:

1) Twitter or Bluesky Handle (whichever you utilize the most in posting content)2) VTuber Name3) Streaming Platform Link (Twitch/YouTube/IRIAM)4) Oshi Mark (if you do not have an oshi mark, please write in "N/A")5) Do you wish to use your VTuber first name, full name, or nickname in the cookbook? - This will be used in the recipe page title.Examples:
- Nickname: Nami's Crab Croquettes
- First Name: Namiya's Crab Croquettes
- Full Name: Namiya Pofumi's Crab Croquettes
6) If you provided the answer "Nickname", include it here.7) Please verify the month and day of your birthday. For the sake of your privacy, please do not include the year.8) Please verify your favorite food. If you initially answered with a broad category, please specify your favorite food.Examples:
- Spaghetti ❌ → Spaghetti with Pesto ✅
- Sushi ❌ → Salmon Avocado Sushi Roll ✅

- Clarification for "Home Recipe": Family recipes, personal recipes created by you, or a random recipe you wrote down years ago and can't exactly remember the original source. Do not include recipe links that already exist (unless it is your own recipe)!

- No gore.
- No NSFW.- No backgrounds (must be transparent).- Static or dynamic poses are OK.- PNG must be able to be adjusted vertically to fit on the recipe page.- Please have your PNG be of your VTuber model from at least the waist up.- No AI art is allowed. If I come to find out AI is used for your art, you will be removed from this project and barred from any future collaboration with Oshi Flavors.- If your PNG is commissioned, please provide proof of commercial license purchase below.- If you are an artist, you are more than welcome to draw a PNG for this project!DISCLAIMER: You need not commission art for this specific project! Please feel free to use a preexisting PNG of your model. I do not wish to make anyone feel obligated to spend money just for this project!13) Transparent PNG Information: Please state the artist's name below for proper credits in the book. My team and I will be contacting/verifying commercial licensing for every transparent PNG should art be commissioned by the VTuber.If you are the VTuber AND the artist, just put your Twitter/BlueSky handle here (repetitive, I know. It's just for organization purposes!).14) Please provide between 3-5 sentences recalling a good memory you have with this dish. It can be a memory with family, a partner, friends, yourself, or really anything positive that can be affiliated with your dish.Example:
“The very first successful recipe I perfected throughout my undergrad. The one time I made these for my friends, they could not stop asking for them at least once a month. Of course, I made them and made them with love. Several variations of this dish were served, but the tried and true original recipe was the house favorite.”
